Our BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Day was awesome! We got to use all of our different devices like iPod touches, tablets and computers for math, social studies, spelling, language and more!
At the starting of the day we did DPA. Everyone went on todaysmeet and typed in what they thought the next exercise should be and then the answers would show up on the Smartboard and we would pick one.
For math we did different stations like on the Smartboard we did a Math Frog game ( Math Frog is a website with math games on it) where you had to do adding, subtracting, multiplication and division to help the penguins get to the next iceberg. Another station was adding with dice and a spinner. One was another Math Frog game on our iPods. There was also a mini test and a game with dice.
For spelling we used our word study words or we looked for sticky words (you find words in your writing and around the classroom that you can’t spell or don’t know what they mean). Then we went on to Spelling City ( a website that helps you spell in fun games and activities) and worked on our words on computers and iPod touches.
And for language we got to choose different articles (from Teaching Kids News) to read about on our devices. Then we answered questions and put the answers in Socrative. Socrative is a really cool app and website were you put text in and your teacher will get your messages.
Have you ever gone on any of these websites? If so, which one? What did you use it for?
If not, which one sounds interesting to you? Why?
Did you know that I just did this blog post all on my iPod touch using the Edublogs app!
Please leave a comment! If you have a blog or a class blog tell us! It would be awesome for us to see yours too!

Hi Meg
Your class is doing so many exciting activities. I was amazed that you did the whole post with your iPod Touch. I am going to download the app you suggested. It’s so interesting to learn about new ways to use your device. I enjoyed reading about your day. (Posted this with my iPhone;)). Sally
Thanks for leaving a comment Sally. With Mrs.Swift I have learned a lot of cool apps for different subjects. Like some different apps for math that are really fun!
Thanks,
Meg
BYOD day was awesome. We got to use our devices a lot. I think it helped a lot. My favourite part about it is we got specific jobs to do on our electronic devices. Oh by the way when is the next BYOD day.
Hey Kaleb,
I am not sure when the next BYOD day is, but I hope it is soon because I really like them! I like them because we get to try different apps for almost every subject! What was your favourite job that we did on our devices?
From,
Meg
I bet it would be awesome to have a BYOD in my class
Hi Dorian,
Maybe you should suggest it to your teacher! Tell me how it turns out.

Meg
